The Parish Council would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the group of residents have been working hard to commemorate Remembrance Day within the village. For the first time in our village history we now have a place of Commemoration for all those past and present in the armed forces who give so much for us to have the freedom we have.
Special thanks to A1 Flue’s at Boughton who made such a superb job of the Silent Soldier and then donated it to the village, such generosity deserves recognition. Thank you to A1 Flue’s.
In readiness for Remembrance Day a group of residents have been knitting and crocheting poppies and created a cascade of poppies to compliment the Silent Soldier. They and the team who organized and placed the cascade are again thanked. The enthusiasm shown for the 100s of hours work in the Poppies was humbling.
Our planned Remembrance Day service has had to be shelved due to the current ‘Lock Down’ but we can all go along at some point during the day and individually pay our respect to all past and present Armed Forces. Those of you that attend with your thoughts please observe the Social Distancing advice.
